    Welcome. I’m Chris, the coach, home cook and writer behind the stories, reflections, and recipes here on Embers and Herbs. I, Chris am an ICF-ACC certified coach that means I'm trained in method of coaching that assist in helping people find the answers that already live within. I also hold a degree in Public Health and am a current student whose education focuses on health behavior change and nutrition. Sam, my husband makes regular guest appearances, especially when there’s meat to be smoked (he’s dang good at it).

    What you’ll find here are personal narratives about becoming a better friend to my body, stories about how we are learning to nourish ourselves in real life, and the small practices and systems that make wellness a bit more sustainable and gentle for us. You may find notes that live in the intersection of public health and our health journey. This space is about practicing care daily.
